These Dhatus play a crucial role in maintaining the overall health and vitality of the body. Additionally, the culmination of these elements and tissues gives rise to Ojas, a subtle energy or essence that surrounds each individual, reflecting their vitality and radiance.

Understanding the Three Doshas

Ayurveda recognizes three fundamental doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, which are combinations of the five basic elements. Vata governs motility and remains in constant motion, serving as the driving force for the other two doshas. Pitta is responsible for heat, metabolism, and digestion, while Kapha provides lubrication, stability, and coolness to the body. These doshas also play a significant role in mental functioning and contribute to an individual’s unique mind-body constitution or Prakriti.
